I had always dreamed of getting a trade as university and academia has never appealed. I have always been my happiest working with my hands and crafting something. This new job though not a trades role did have that opportunity within the same business. I'll just get my foot in the door and I'll switch into a trade soon as an opportunity arises. I ended up being rushed into a role which cropped up as I was the only trainee they had. Boom now I'm on 80k I can hardly accept this is happening to me. Fast forward another 5 years I'm now 30, married, a father, a home owner (mortgage obviously) and I've progressed into higher rolls now bringing in a 105k salary + overtime. I'm currently our only income as after growing up to a widowed single mother I want nothing more for my own to actually have a parent there for their childhood at home, so we had always planned on making this happen (whichever of us had the highest salary was going to be the bread winner as my wife had a higher paying job up until now) I'm starting to feel very very uncomfortable.

Que her starting to go Karen as she slams her large wallet onto the counter. "I'm sorry ma'am, but it's against store policy for me to do a return on worn intimates that are also past the 30 day return date. " I am being as polite as I can here. "you mean you won't give me my money back? " She is exasperated and throws the panties in her hand onto the counter and they slide so far they almost fall off the other side. I grimace at her and shrug in the "I'm sorry there's nothing I can do" expression. "But you have to give me my money back. I can't use these. She didn't even wear them. Is there a manager I can talk to? " She starts to get irate and shoves the bras at me next. "Ma'am. I am a manager. There are no tags on these, they have been worn. You said your niece tried them on to find out they didn't fit. This is, " I look at the date on the receipt, "a month and a half past the 30 day return period. " "But you have to-" she starts to get loud, looking around for sympathy from other customers who are actually trying to avoid eye contact with her.

The barn is just under 30 minutes from where I live and the facilities are solid. They have several horses who are older (late 20ies, early 30ies) who look great (a hard task as they get up there), access to clean water, hay, good fencing, feed twice a day, and a ring. I was pretty excited about moving there with the opportunities I saw for a relaxed start to my horses under-saddle career. After we arrived to the barn in October things were fine. I mostly ended up alone at the barn after dark all winter, which I enjoy. I use the cross-ties in the barn as permitted and have had 2 issues where I didn't hose off the area after my horse pooped. The first time I didn't because I didn't realize it was something the barn owner wanted. She approached me in person, I apologized and promised to be more diligent. There was a second time (I'd guess a month or two later) where I forgot the same thing when there late one night. I received a polite text, I apologized, and since then I have not repeated the mistake.
